Pilgramage

It was close to 2 am. That day it had been 42 degrees.
Three young girls walked up the hill in the dark, all was silent except for the fainted voices from far below the hill. One walked barefoot, the two others chose not to this time. It was a short pilgramage, one they decided to complete for the Virgin Mary.

They asked for all they felt was needed. They lauged, cried, shared thoughts and emotions. They meditated, asked questions, and recieved answers. They passed by other pilgrims, as in life we often pass by others who are going through the same as us. They spent hours climbing and descending the warm, sharp, white rocks covered in red sand.

At one point during their journey, they were becoming more focused on reaching their goal, than actually experiencing the way.

„Stop! Stop!“, a cricket spoke to them in the only language he knew. One heard him, and told the rest to stop. In the soft summer breeze, they stood for a moment to admire the illuminated statue they had almost passed by without noticing.

-Marija
